Poker is a card game in which a group of players sit around a circular table and place bets on the outcome of the hand. There are three main branches of the game, namely Draw Poker, Stud Poker, and Community Card Poker.<\/p>\n
In each round of the game, each player is required to make a bet. The betting occurs in a clockwise order, with the highest hand being the winner. Depending on the rules, the highest hand in a round may be ranked higher or lower than the lowest hand.<\/p>\n
Poker is played with a standard pack of 52 cards. Two jokers are also included in most packs, which can be used as wild cards.<\/p>\n
Cards are ranked from Ace to Ten. Each poker hand is composed of five cards. A pair of aces is a good off-the-deal hand, but not very great.<\/p>\n
If two players tie on the same card, the highest card breaks the tie. Similarly, if there are more than one pair, the highest two-card combination wins the pot.<\/p>\n
Poker is also played with a special fund called the “kitty.” All of the chips in the pot belong to the kitty, and are divided equally among the remaining players. This fund is used for food, drinks, and to buy new decks of cards.<\/p>\n
